Frequently Asked Questions…

  1. What are lash extensions?

Eyelash extensions are an increasingly popular treatment which involves applying a false lash to each individual natural lash to create a longer or thicker lash look.

2. How do I prepare for lash extensions?

For the best lash experience come to your appointment with clean lashes which are mascara-free. Make sure you’re caffeine-free as caffeine can cause your eyes to twitch during your appointment, making it more difficult for your technician, and increasing the risk of getting red eyes after treatment.

3. Can I wear contacts with lash extensions?

Yes you can. We recommend whilst having your lashes done to make sure your contacts aren’t in to avoid any irritation.

4. How are lash extensions different from a lash lift?

Lash lifts are more a perm which lift your lashes up to make them appear longer. This treatment doesn’t involve adding any extensions as we only work with your natural lashes.

5. How much do lash extensions cost in the UK?

Lash extensions range from about £50 - £150 for a full set, some prices may range even higher as some technicians do charge up to £400.

6. What are infills and when are they required?

Infills are when we replace the lashes which have grown out (lashes grow the same as nails would), we remove the growth out lashes and fill in the new ones. This is required every 2 - 3 weeks.

7. Can I wear mascara with lash extensions?

No we would not recommend. Although some technicians say its okay, we wouldn't recommend. Application of mascara could clog up the lashes, deposit oil on them and cause them to break down. If you’d like a fuller look we’d recommend getting a fuller look instead of applying mascara. Don’t ruin those lovely lashes.

8. How will I know what style will suit me?

Your lash tech. Your lash tech will help you make that decision along side yourself. It’s always good to know let your technician know what look you like and they should let know how that will suit your eye shape.

9. Are allergic reactions common?

Allergic reactions aren’t common but when they do occur it’s usually Cyanoacrylate that is the allergen. Its extremely rare to find glue without these ingredients, we do offer a alternative with our premium lashes. So you don’t have to be lash less if you have previously reacted.

10. Its my first time getting lash extensions what should I go for?

We always recommend Classics for your first time. These are the most natural and unless you already know you like full lashes we’d recommend you to go for these. You can always go fuller for the next times if you’d like more. If you’re a frequent strip lash wearer its always worth showing your lash tech before hand and they can always advise you based on that.

11. What lash extensions make your eyes look bigger?

Style makes the most difference. Open eye styling can be done with Classics, Hybrids, any type of lashes. Open eye styling is when the longest lengths of the lash extensions are in the middle of the eye, giving the illusion of a more opened eye.

12. Are eyelash extensions worth it?

We voted YES! They save you time in the morning, no more removing mascara and boost self confidence!

13. Do lash extensions ruin your natural lashes?

No they SHOULD NOT but bad application can. When we apply lash extensions they are applied individually, one lash extension on one natural lash. This allows lashes to grow without disrupting the natural lash cycle. When lashes are applied incorrectly they’ll be clumped together in a manner that disrupt the natural cycle and can cause pain, irritation and pull of natural lashes.

14. Can you lose your eyelashes from extensions?

It is possible, only bad application or if you pull them out yourself (attempted home removal) will cause damage to your own lashes.

15. How can I tell if my lashes are applied correctly?

When your lash extensions fall out check how they look. It is normal for lashes to fall out without any extensions at the rate of 2-5 per day on average, when getting extensions it is more obvious as it will be attached to a false lash. What you’re looking for is one lash on the false lash. If your finding clumps of natural lashes falling out (a false lash applied to 2+ natural lashes) then that is a sign of incorrect application.

Lashes that have fallen out should look like week 3 one extensions on one natural lash.

16. How long do lash extensions last?

Lash extensions can last up to 6 weeks on the eyes, to stop them looking sparse, infills are required every 2-3 weeks.

17. Do lash extensions hurt?

No lash extensions shouldn’t hurt, it they do let your technician know to see how they can help you and make sure you’re checking they’re correctly applied go.

18. Can I have lash extensions if my lashes are short and curly?

Yes. We can do all types of lashes don’t shy away because we won’t turn you away for having curly lashes!
